Xmas Rant

This is the time of year when I usually burnish my ‘bah humbug’ credentials and go off on a bit of a Xmas rant. But this year things are a bit different as I have small children in my life for the first time thanks to Peter’s niece, who assures me she is just the person I need to banish my previous festive feelings into ‘Xmas past’. I suspect she’s right too.

I Knew It Was A Good Idea!

Last Tuesday I watched the live ‘Martin Lewis Money Programme’ on ITV. I’ve become quite a fan of his recently. Earlier in the year some of his advice resulted in me getting a fair sized tax refund and during these last few months his website has been extremely useful for financial matters relating to bereavement.

Those of you who know me will probably be aware by now that Peter passed away last week. I had already prepared this post, so it seems a shame to waste it.

He put his heart and soul into making ‘Grassy Bottom’ a special place both inside and out. I dedicate this website to him. I don’t know when I’ll be back.

Friends And Enemies

Peter and I have had pet cats all our married life. The most we ever had at one time was 5 back in the 1990’s. You can read all about them in the following links. They were Linus, and his sister Grover, followed 3 years later by rescue kittens Dulcie, who was intent on using up all her nine lives and Creamer. Finally there was Jackson who was a local stray tom cat.
