How To Make A Vegetable Garden

Posted By on 13th August 2019

This is a post that I actually started to write last Autumn, but it never got finished or published for obvious reasons, so I thought it was about time I finished it off.

Even The Dogs Didn’t Bark

Posted By on 30th July 2019

It was 04.30am in Aberdeenshire on the Tuesday morning of my return home. We were to be up early so I could catch my train, not that early, but I needed the loo. Nothing unusual in that. (It’s an age thing)

When you think of Scottish wildlife you think deer, pine martens, red squirrels, dolphins and the like, and I would have been truly made up to have seen any one of these during my recent trip, but sadly I didn’t.

My Travels In Scotland

Posted By on 9th July 2019

Last week I spent 5 days visiting my sister and her husband in Scotland, about 45 miles west of Aberdeen to be precise. Apart from falling down the stairs, which I will write about later and despite some pretty frisky weather, I had a great time.

The Dream Team

I’m fed up with Brexit, just like 99% of the British public and probably the rest of the world too. Do you remember what I wrote back in June 2016 Here’s the relevant bit.

“However, there is no magic switch and when I think of all the money and time that would be spent/wasted on the subsequent battle to disentangle ourselves, it makes me shudder.”

Surely I can’t have been the only one who could see this coming?

Just Like Old Times

Posted By on 26th March 2019

Adrian fitted the new door on the porch before Xmas but just like in the old Flanders and Swan song, ‘The Gas Man Cometh’, (you have to be of a certain age to understand that) it revealed short comings in the brickwork on the corner, which would need serious attention after Xmas.
