And Then There Were 4

You might remember last year I wrote about the yukka in our garden and commented on the fact that it had not flowered in 2015 which made me wonder if it only flowered biennially.

Well recent events have forced me to re-think that particular theory, because this year it has produced 4, yes 4, flower spikes as you can see in the following pictures.

It started in the middle of June

and just grew

and grew.

By July it looked like this. Pretty impressive.

For some reason I used my other camera for that last photo which actually reflects a more accurate colour for the flower spikes.

I wonder what it will do next year?
