The Return Of An Old Friend

Not for the first time the building schedule has slipped. The remaining old concrete in the drive was due to be dug up this week, but the digger won’t be coming until Monday now (hopefully).
Tuesday was a right-off any way as it rained all day, so from Wednesday lots of bits of brick laying were done.
Here you can see Adrian putting the finishing touches to the retaining wall around what will become my vegetable patch,
before moving on to the second set of steps.
They’re almost finished now. The observant among you might notice the return of an old friend.
Did you spot Gladys’s commode outside the garage? It’s been pressed into service once more and is very handy for swallow watching.
They are still swooping in and out, sometimes staying for several seconds, which seems to be a long time for a swallow, but no sign of actual nest building as yet.
Now we’ve got somewhere comfortable to sit we can watch them for hours.
