Sometimes I Despair

Ever had the feeling you haven’t quite got to grips with something? I’ve been gardening seriously for 20+ years now but never cease to surprise horrify myself.
Take the other week for example. I decided to spray the lawn with selective weed killer. A job I’ve done many times before to some degree of success, but if I’m honest the weeds are still getting the better of me.
As if to prove the point, here you can see an area of dead grass with a beautifully healthy weed in the middle of it
and it’s not alone,
though I think the weed on the left did have the good manners to die eventually.
I don’t think I’ve quite got the hang of this gardening malarkey.
But let’s not dwell on my short comings, it’s always best to finish on a high, so I’ll leave you with my favourite picture of Macbeth to date, taken just before the frost got the nasturtiums.
It just goes to show that 15 square meals a day can turn a ragamuffin into a prince. (Perhaps that should be thane)
But don’t be fooled by the angelic expression, you don’t mess with Macbeth.
