Progress

At 8.30 yesterday morning the concrete arrived, this was going to be a 3 man job, so Adrian and Brett were accompanied by Steve.
It didn’t take long for the concrete to be transported down the drive and spread over the chalk which had been covered with a black plastic membrane.
Then came the major task of transporting 2,000 bricks from the grass verge
to the garage site,
Peter supervised while Leonard and I retreated to the warmth of the little bedroom and took photos.
By this time the concrete had been ‘tamped’ and ‘screed’ and Adrian was finding increasingly ingenious ways of ‘floating’ it without treading in it.
Today Adrian and his bricklaying chum Tony are coming and although everything is now laid out for speedy progress, I fear that once again the weather will step in and slow things down. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, but Thursday is looking OK.
So, lets see what today brings.
