Disappointing Friday

After a positive week, yesterday turned out to be a bit of a disappointment on several levels.
For a start the weather was rubbish. After the sun and blue skies of Thursday, Friday was grey and cold with dampness in the air.
Secondly, due to the unexpected, not to say unwanted and dangerous, appearance of a 20′ well on another job which needed Adrian’s urgent attention, Tony was on his own all day. This meant he was brick laying and labouring and as a result instead of seeing the walls built up to the eaves height, we only got the remaining brick piers finished, so no photos.
Finally, we’d bought an Edwardian brass fender on EBay to go around our favourite fireplace in the front sitting room. Sadly, when it arrived it had been damaged in transit. It looked like it had been dropped onto one corner from a great height.
We’ve got a partial refund, but we’d have prefered an undamaged fender.
You win some you lose some, a disappointing Friday. I hope next week it will be a Good Friday! (see what I did there?!)
