Something’s Missing
Posted By Judith on 2nd September 2015
It’s the beginning of September and I’ve only just realised something’s missing from the garden, I haven’t seen a ladybird all summer.
We’ve had quite a few butterflies. I’m no expert but have been able to recognise:- Red Admiral; Peacock; Small Tortoiseshell; Brimstone; Cabbage White; Common Blue and the imaginatively named Orange Tip.
We’ve even had a humming bird hawk moth. Remember when we had one of those at Joiners Cottage last year? (I’ve just read this again after almost a year, I think I was a little over excited!)
He didn’t stay as long this time round, but I was glad he came even for a short visit.
So for all of you who are missing your red and black spotted gardening chum, I thought I’d share with you a couple of my favourite ladybird pictures. (Not taken by me)
