Gladys Does It Again

Last week was miserable. Whilst the western side of the UK was bathed in warm sunshine, here down the eastern side we had cloud, rain, cold and strong winds. In a word it was rubbish, certainly not conducive to building or gardening.

Thankfully today the sun shone properly for the first time in ages, and it revealed another of Gladys’s famous plant combinations. It was so striking that I thought I’d share with you, though my camera (or perhaps my photography skills) means it is a poor representation of the real thing.

Gardeners among you will no doubt recognise the magnificent ‘gladiolus communis’ against a background of ‘variegated weigela’, ‘berberis thunbergii’ and ‘cotinus coggygria’ (the smoke tree).

Nice one Gladys.
