At Last

What a difference a week makes. 7 days ago I was having to buy in extra coffee and sugar for hot drinks, this week I’m in danger of running out of soft drinks and ice cubes!!

On Wednesday we had a ton of top-soil delivered. Everything went well, which was quite a relief considering what happened last time!

Elsewhere, Sean had finished capping off the garage roof on Monday morning, but it rained in the afternoon and washed all his pointing out, so that had to be done again.

As well as dealing with the top-soil we spent Wednesday waiting for the men to come and remove the scaffolding, but they didn’t turn up, which was annoying because they were delaying further progress.

Thankfully they did arrive yesterday lunchtime which allowed Adrian to fit the down pipes and dig the trenches for the drain pipes which will take any excess rain water from the roof.

However the really exciting bit was that we were able to see the garage, unencumbered for the first time, and very pleased we were too. Here Peter brushes out the shed bit while Adrian digs a hole,

and this shows the ‘cat-slide’ at the back.

The damp patch on the wall shows how it was before the down pipe was installed, i.e very wet.

And finally,

Congratulations to Leicester City for winning the Premiere League title. From 5000-1 outsiders at the start of the season to champions with 2 games to spare. You don’t need to be a football fan or gambler to know that’s pretty damned impressive. Well done ‘The Foxes’.
